The Golden State Water Company is restricting outdoor watering for its more than 9,000 Barstow customers to once a week after they failed to meet the state-mandated 24 percent reduction in water use for the months of August and September. "The recent increase in water use is concerning, therefore, we are asking all Barstow customers to review their water-use practices to ensure they are complying with all local and state restrictions," said Perry Dahlstrom, general manager for the Mountain-Desert District for Gold State Water, in a statement.
