Seven people were arrested in connection to an illegal marijuana grow that housed thousands of plants here, authorities said. Barstow Police Department Officers Matt Helms and Jimmie Walker were working a specialized enforcement detail on Aug. 31 when they contacted a resident who reported an illegal marijuana grow in the desert area behind Love's Travel Stop off Lenwood Road.
