Barstow Police Department said the suspect, described as a black man with a beard, remains at large following the incident, which was reported at 2:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of E. Main Street Monday. When officers arrived, they learned the victim, a 68-year-old woman, was getting inside her vehicle when the man "grabbed her purse and attempted to take it from her." "The victim attempted to pull her purse back from the suspect, but the suspect overpowered her and was able to pull her purse from her," police said.
