Westbound Interstate 40 lanes were blocked Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer hauling thousands of frozen chickens overturned on the roadway roughly 35 miles east of Barstow, authorities said. California Highway Patrol spokesman Ryan Camara said approximately 40,000 pounds of frozen chicken scattered the westbound lanes Wednesday morning after the driver of the tractor trailer drifted into the center divider at approximately 4:30 a.m. At approximately 5:30 a.m., a SIG Alert was issued for the westbound lanes.
