A Barstow woman was arrested Thursday after police say she assaulted a school teacher who the woman alleged had scratched her son last month. Alecia Garcia, 29, took her son to Cameron Elementary School, at 801 Muriel Drive, shortly after 8 a.m., and witnesses say she approached the teacher at the front of the school, where the teacher was waiting to escort students off a bus and into a classroom, according to a Barstow police news release.
